Indian 2 box office collection Day 2: Kamal Haasan’s film leaves Akshay Kumar’s Sarfira in the dust, earns a total of Rs 42 cr

Indian 2 box office collection day 2: On Saturday, Kamal Haasan's film earns Rs 16.7 crore, sees a dip in business from Tamil and Telugu markets.

In 1996, when Indian was released, the film left the audience quite impressed. Now 28 years later, with Indian 2 releasing in theaters, the impact is not the same. The Kamal Haasan starrer has been critically panned, and even a section of the audience has given the film negative feedback. However, it looks like it is solely Kamal Haasan’s star power that is making Indian 2 thrive at the box office. At the end of day 2, Indian 2’s total collection stood at Rs 42.30 crore.

As per industry tracker Sacnilk, Indian 2 collected Rs 16.7 crore on Saturday. The Tamil version of the film did a business of Rs 13 crore, and in Hindi, the film earned Rs 1.2 crore. From the Telugu audience, Indian 2 could draw Rs 2.5 crore. On day 1, Indian 2 had earned Rs 25.6 crore. However, on Saturday, business from Tamil and Telugu markets seems to have seen a dip, while the collection from the Hindi version has remained steady.

Unfortunately, Akshay Kumar’s Sarfira, which received great reviews, is also not finding takers at the box office. Though its collection saw a spike on Saturday, the film collected less than Rs 7 crore on day 2.

Indian 2 also stars Rakul Preet Singh and Siddharth in important roles. The film is a sequel to Shankar’s classic from 1996, Indian. Kamal Haasan reprises his role of Senapathy in the latest film.
