External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar was present at the airport to see him off. Before his departure, President Putin attended a formal dinner hosted by President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan earlier in the evening. During the interaction, President Murmu expressed her appreciation for his continued support and personal commitment to strengthening the India–Russia special and privileged strategic partnership. Earlier in the day, on the 23rd India-Russia summit talks in New Delhi, India and Russia have inked several agreements. These include MoUs on migration and mobility, port and shipping sector, and health and food safety sectors. PM Narendra Modi said both sides agreed on the economic cooperation programme till 2030, and that New Delhi and Moscow are working towards the early conclusion of the FTA with the Eurasian Economic Union.
PM Modi’s message on peace: Russian President Vladmir Putin, who is on a two-day visit to India, has arrived at Hyderabad House for bilateral talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Earlier on Friday, he was welcomed with the ceremonial Guard of Honour by the President’s Bodyguard (PBG) at Rashtrapati Bhavan. He was received by President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the venue. After that, he visited Rajghat in New Delhi to pay homage to Mahatma Gandhi.

Putin’s India visit: PM Modi received President Vladimir Putin at Palam Airport on Thursday. The two leaders exchanged a warm handshake, shared a hug and greeted each other before leaving together in the same car for 7 Lok Kalyan Marg, the official residence of the Prime Minister. PM Modi also hosted a dinner for President Putin at his official residence. During the visit, which is Russian President’s first visit to the country since the start of the war in Ukraine, Russia and India are set to sign several agreements to enhance cooperation between the two countries in various areas, including healthcare and trade, during Putin’s visit.
