Aamir Khan and wife Kiran Rao become parents to a son born through IVF-surrogacy.

It’s a boy for Aamir Khan and wife Kiran Rao. In what turns out to be the best-kept secret of the year, the couple announced the happy news to the near and dear ones with personal notes. The baby boy, born through surrogacy, was born on December 1 in a private clinic in Mumbai. “It gives us the greatest joy to share with you the good news of the birth of our baby boy. This baby is especially dear to us because he was born to us after a long wait and some difficulty,” they write.

In August 2009,the couple suffered a personal set back when Kiran had a miscarriage. Aamir had disclosed the news on his personal blog— “Despite our best efforts we were unable to avert a miscarriage. The last two months have been a struggle for us,” said Aamir who has a son and daughter —Junaid and Ira,with his first wife Reena.

This time too,the couple is equally upfront about the delivery of their newborn via surrogacy. “Due to medical complications,we were advised to have a baby through IVF-surrogacy,and we feel very grateful to the Almighty that all has gone well,” they tell us. While details have been kept to a minimum,in turn respecting the confidentiality terms of surrogacy, the star and his director wife offered a note of thanks to all who kept their secret. The couple who wed in December 2005 in Panchgani, admits to be “humbled by the greatness of God,the miracles of science, and the kindness and love of our families and friends in being there for us while respecting our privacy.” Aamir Jr is at home and according to a close associate of Khan, who saw the baby last night,“he is the cutest baby ever.”
