Vishal Bhardwaj finds ‘Talvar’ release like déjà vu after ‘Haider’

Releasing on October 2, 'Talvar' is said to be like a déjà vu for Vishal Bhardwaj as his last film, 'Haider' also on the same date last year.

Filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj is gearing up for the release of his co-production, ‘Talvar’ which is based on the 2008 Aarushi Talwar double murder case.

Releasing on October 2, ‘Talvar’ is said to be like a déjà vu for Vishal Bhardwaj as his last film, ‘Haider’ also on the same date last year. While ‘Talwar’ coincides with the ‘Singh is Bliing’ at the Box Office, ‘Haider’ had hit screens along with Hrithik Roshan-starrer, ‘Bang Bang’.

Just like the Shakespearean adaptation that starrer Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor, ‘Talvar’ starring Konkona Sen Sharma, Irrfan Khan and Neeraj Kabi is also a content driven film. It garnered rave reviews from critics and audiences alike at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).

Vishal Bhardwaj has also written the script, composed the music and co-produced ‘Talvar’.

Given the immense interest that the Aarushi Talwar case piqued, it will be interesting to see how the film will be received. “Since it’s a national holiday, it’s a good release date and can easily accommodate two films as the audience for both of them are quite different,” said film distributor, Anil Thadani.
