Students of class 10 will be able to collect their question papers and answer sheets from June 21 to June 25. They will have to submit them between June 26-30. Class 12 students will be able to collect the required question papers and answer sheets from July 1-7 and can submit them from July 6-10. The exam schedule is applied to students appearing for both main and improvement exams.
The Chhattisgarh State Open School has released the datasheet for higher secondary (Class 10) and high school (Class 10) board exams. Students will be able to collect question papers and answer sheet from the designated exam centres. Students will have to submit the answer sheets within 5 days of receiving them. The fresh dates of the SSLC exams and the timetable will be announced 20 days before the examination will be held, said Kumar adding that the students who are not able to appear for exams due to COVID-19 and in other states will be examined at a later date, Kumar said. For SSLC exams, over 8.75 lakh students will take exams in over 6000 centers across the state and the number of exam centers is doubled from last year to ensure social distancing. The Karnataka government has decided on Friday to cancel the II PUC exam, however, the government will go ahead with class 10-SSLC exams with only multiple-choice type questions (MCQs). This makes Karnataka the only state to go forward with the decision to hold state board examinations for Class 10 (SSLC).
For the promotion of UP Board Class 10 students, an average of marks scored in Class 9 and Class 10 pre-board exams will be calculated. Attorney General K K Venugopal and advocate J K Das, appearing for the CISCE said that the boards required more time to formulate the well-defined objective criteria for the assessment of class 12 students and the court may defer the hearing for at least two weeks. The bench said, “You (CISCE) can do it overnight. Four weeks’ time is a little longer. We cannot give you 3-4 weeks’ time. Please place it before us in two weeks as students will have to take admissions in colleges. Nowadays all communication is happening virtually.”
The SC on Thursday said it was happy to note that the government has cancelled the class 12 board exams, and directed the CBSE and CICSE to place on record well-defined objective criteria for assessment of students in two weeks. After CBSE, CISCE and several states have cancelled Class 12 exams, students of states like Assam and Karnataka are demanding scrapping of board exams. Karnataka Primary and Secondary Education Minister Suresh Kumar on Wednesday said an appropriate decision will be taken soon on holding board exams in the state. "Regarding holding SSLC (class 10) and second year Pre-University (class 12) exams, an appropriate decision will be taken at the earliest," the Minister said in a statement.
"Hon'ble Supreme Court has asked the Govt to place on record the objective methodology within 2 weeks so that result can be declared on time. Assurance has been given that the interest of all students CBSE, ICSE and other State Boards will be taken care of," tweeted Mamta Sharma, the advocate who had moved the court with the plea demanding cancellation of Class 12 board exams.
During the hearing of the plea that demanded cancellation of class 12 board exams, the Supreme Court today said that the central board will have to share the objective criteria for evaluation students within the next two weeks.
The Ministry of Education will soon review the situation to decide on conducting the two remaining editions of engineering entrance exams JEE Main (April and May) and medical entrance exam NEET in August, sources said on Wednesday. “A review meeting is likely to be conducted soon to decide whether NEET-UG can be conducted on August 1,” a source said.
