Dhurandhar Box Office Collection Day 8: Ranveer Singh starrer earns Rs 239 cr.Ranveer Singh-starrer Dhurandhar is on its way to achieving box office victory. The film is on the cusp of surpassing the lifetime collection of Dhar’s first film, Uri, starring Vicky Kaushal. Dhurandhar has also surpassed the collection of Ranveer Singh’s second highest grosser, Simmba, which made Rs 240 crore through its theatrical run in 2018. As per Sacnilk’s early report, Dhurandhar has earned Rs 32.04 crore on Day 9, with its net domestic earning reaching to Rs 271.79 crore.
Even though Dhurandhar has been at the centre of many controversies, before and after release, the film has found its footing at theatres across the country. While the film has received a lot of polarising reactions from the critics and the audience alike, it seems like the differing opinions are attracting new crowds to the theatres. Dhurandhar is currently the third highest Bollywood grosser of 2025. Vicky Kaushal-starrer Chhaava leads the charts with Rs 600 crore in its domestic collection, Saiyaara is the second on the list with Rs 330 crore in its domestic collection. Dhurandhar still needs Rs 90 crore more in its collection if it plans on surpassing Saiyaara and it appears that with no major competition in sight, the film might be able to achieve that in the next week.
Ranveer’s highest grosser continues to be Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat, which earned Rs 302 crore in India. It is highly likely that Dhurandhar will surpass Padmaavat’s collection in the next few days. Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat also starred Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor. Dhurandhar will soon surpass Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Kabir Singh (Rs 278 cr), Vijay Krishna Acharya’s Dhoom 3 (Rs 271 cr) and Maneesh Sharma’s Tiger 3 (Rs 276 cr).
Directed by Aditya Dhar, the cast of Dhurandhar includes Ranveer Singh, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, and R Madhavan.
As per Sacnilk’s early report, Dhurandhar minted Rs 32.04 crore in India on Day 9, its second Saturday at the box office. This takes the film’s total domestic collection to Rs 271.79 crore. According to early trends, the Ranveer Singh-starrer recorded an overall Hindi occupancy of 59.46% on Saturday.
During an interaction with PTI, casting director Mukesh Chhabra revealed the extensive process behind selecting the actor to play gangster Rehman Dakait. He shared that a long list of 50 to 60 actors from various backgrounds - including names from South cinema - was considered for the role. Ultimately, the makers decided to cast Akshaye Khanna for the pivotal character
Speaking to PTI, Mukesh Chhabra said, “I always think about how to surprise people, and how to make casting look more interesting, funny and fresh. With this film, I wanted to do that. People were expecting twists in this film, and therefore, I wanted to twist things with the casting. Every person should feel that it is a well thought out thing and that we have not casted someone randomly."
The casting director said he and the film's director Aditya Dhar spent nearly a year and a half finalising the cast. He also admitted that they considered actors who had made a strong impression through their work on OTT platforms. He added, "With each and every casting, we literally spent so much time on thinking whether Arjun, Madhavan, Sanju baba or Akshaye would be correct or not. Every day, me and Aditya would sit for two to four hours, bouncing names, fighting, discussing, 'It (actor) might work, not work, let's surprise people, let's go extra, and push ourselves'. Earlier, we had some other names of (actors), we had OTT faces (actors), then we thought of making it (film) bigger," he said.
During a recent interview with Puja Talwar, R Madhavan spoke about Dhurandhar director Aditya Dhar's ability to remain claim even when chaos engulfed the set. He said, "The fearlessness of the man, the uniqueness of his storytelling, and his ability to commit to making this film like a monk, without being hassled at all, truly stood out. In fact, my last day of shoot was on October 29, when we filmed the airplane scene. We were delayed due to floods, rain and everything else, and I was expecting Aditya to be at least a little hassled, if not agitated."
He shared how the director was calmly playing Candy Crush at that moment. He added, "He was just sitting there on the chair, looking at the monitor and playing Candy Crush. I assumed either he was supremely confident about his film, so unbothered and calm, or he didn’t know the challenges in front of him. I was so jealous of him."
Choreographer Vijay Ganguly spoke about Akshaye Khanna's entry and dance in the now-viral Fa9la song. Talking to NDTV, he shared that Akshaye did the scene in one take and it was his idea to do the little dance. He said, “Akshaye told Aditya sir that when I enter, I am going to dance." He shared how Akshaye watched the background dancers and decided to join them. “Then the camera rolled, and he did what you see in the video. That was one take. That's it,” Vijay said.
He added, “It was all impromptu. Everything was last minute. We honestly never expected it to become this big.”
Grammy Award-winning composer Ricky Kej lauded Dhurandhar on social media and shared a glowing review of the film. Praising its storytelling and technical brilliance, Kej wrote, "Was travelling non-stop, took a short break to watch #dhurandhar.. and WOW! Indian cinema coming of age. The 3.5 hour run-time goes by in a flash, with us asking for more! The performances, edit, dialogues, all absolutely top notch. Incredible music by @shashwatology . A spy thriller done correctly. Technically brilliant.. every department has excelled. A big, hearty congratulations to the genius captain of the ship @AdityaDharFilms , now he has proven to be the best.. and incapable of anything less than brilliance. (I had the pleasure of meeting him once in 2001!)"
He added, "P.S: The tiny few who are criticizing the movie have probably not watched it. It shows things as they are, gruesome or otherwise, no sugar coating. It is certified adult, so you will be stupid if you take your children. People criticizing the film probably prefer movies with a sexy female Pakistani ISI agent dancing in a bikini to Besharam Rang... That is cinema according to them :-)"
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to social media to announce that Dhurandhar has outperformed the second-Friday collections of blockbuster films including Pushpa 2, Chhaava and Animal, marking what he described as a “HISTORIC” achievement. Sharing the update, he wrote, "HISTORIC... 'DHURANDHAR' OVERTAKES 'PUSHPA 2', 'CHHAAVA', 'ANIMAL' ON *SECOND FRIDAY*... #dhurandhar is rewriting the record books 🔥🔥🔥. Sanjay Gupta took to X to applaud Dhurandhar. He wrote, "I finally watched #dhurandhar and thoroughly enjoyed it. For me it was a ONE MAN SHOW all the way and that man is @AdityaDharFilms. Saira started her caption on Instagram by calling Akshaye the "original Heartbreak Kid." She wrote, "Perhaps i haven't shared this before,but Akshaye Khanna was a couple of years senior to us at Lawrence School Lovedale where i was a boarder along with my brother Major Mohommed Ali Shah. Back in the hallowed, halls of Lawrence School Lovedale, there was a lot of excitement one day,the buzz was that Vinod Khanna's son is joining in class 11th and we were intrigued about who or what he looked like. For the next two years we saw him every day,while passing us by,or by walking up and down the campus,one bumped into him as one came out of the tuck shop etc etc and boy he was the school crush! period. Akshaye wasn't the boisterous captain of the football team; he was the quiet storm. He was reticent and a brooder and the only drama he caused was in the hearts of his school mates. In a chat with Mid-day, Naveen Kaushik spoke about his character Donga in Dhurandhar. He shared, "I asked Aditya Dhar why the name Donga… I know Donga in Punjabi means a big bowl to put food in. My character is slightly roundish… so is it because he looks like a round bowl? He gave me a slight smile and said, yeah, that’s the reason." He added "Before the film came to any actor, everything was worked out — names, nicknames, places they go to."
Dhurandhar has made Rs 240 crore at the box office so far, and it appears that it will surpass Saiyaara's box office collections in its second week in the theatres. Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda-starrer Saiyaara made Rs 330 crore during its lifetime run at the box office.
Ranveer Singh, who started his career 15 years ago with Band Baaja Baaraat, has delivered many hits across the last decade and a half. His biggest is Padmaavat, which made Rs 302 crore, at the box office. Simmba, which occupied the second spot until now, earned Rs 240 crore when it released in 2018. Dhurandhar is now taking that spot.
Casting director Mukesh Chhabra was asked about Dhurandhar being discussed as a propaganda film and he told Free Press Journal, "I just love casting actors and creating a world. I see cinema as cinema. I just follow my instinct. Whoever is saying that (it is a propaganda film), many others are answering them. So, that will keep on happening. I am only worried about the actors, the film, and the director I am working with. I don't want to think about anything else."
Aditya Dhar responded to Hrithik Roshan's praise for Dhurandhar. He was reacting to Hrithik's second review of the film where the actor wrote, “Still can’t get DHURANDHAR out of my mind. @AdityaDharFilms you are an incredible maker man. @RanveerOfficial the silent to the fierce what a journey and so damn consistent." He went on to praise the film's cast as well.
Aditya replied, “Deeply humbled by your love for #dhurandhar, @iHrithik Sir. Every actor and every department gave more than 100%, and your appreciation is a huge boost for the whole team. Thank you for celebrating their craft. Part 2 is coming… and we’ll try our best to live up to this encouragement (folded hand emoji)."
AS per reports, Dhurandhar will land on Netflix after the 8-week lock in period, around the end of January. The film's much hyped second part will come out on March 19 next year.
It's a matter of time before Dhurandhar emerges as Ranveer Singh's highest earning film. It will become his second highest earner with its collection on day 9, after trumping Simmba (Rs 240.3 cr) and by the end of this weekend, it will move ahead of Padmavaat (Rs. 302.15 crore).
Aditya Dhar's film earned Rs 32 crore on the second Friday at the hustings, extending its opening day earning by Rs 4 crore. While Dhurandhar made Rs 28 crore on the day its release, it started the second weekend on a stronger note. Trade expects the film to enter Rs 300 crore club before Monday.

In an interview with Pooja Talwar, Madhavan said, “I note down people who call it ‘the end.’ Some critics genuinely review a film—they’re either very new or very seasoned and understand what reviewing means. But there are others who, on the day of release or even before it, use words like ‘disaster’ in their headline. That reduces their relevance for us. As actors, we dream of moments like this—when people dismiss a film at first and are then shocked by its success."

Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 hit theatres on Friday. However, it does not appear to pose a threat to the box office dominance of Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar. According to trade tracker Sacnilk, the Kapil Sharma–led romantic comedy had earned just Rs 0.46 crore as of 3 pm on Friday.

Aditya Dhar film will become profitable today, reported Koimoi. Made at a reported Rs 225 crore budget, the Ranveer Singh films has earned Rs 218 crores net and Rs 257.24 crores gross in India. The way it's growing, the film will recoup its budget today. Its second part is expected to come out next year.

Dhurandhar is clearly turning out to be a blockbuster. With Rs 300 crore box office within its grasp, it has earned 6.85 crores gross at the Indian box office with day 8’s pre-sales, a number bigger than most films collected on their day 1 this year.
Dhurandhar has sold a massive 2.3 lakh tickets only through advance booking for day 8, which is its second Friday. The film sold 1.98 lakh tickets on first Friday, showing a jump of 16.16%. The film is likely to cross Rs 300 crore during this weekend
On its seventh day in the theatres, Dhurandhar earned Rs 27 crore in the theatres, as per Sacnilk. The film doesn't have much competition this weekend and it appears that it will have a smooth sailing through its second weekend as well.
