“Producers hire the stars because it makes better business sense,so till one attains stardom,there is really no point chasing them to cast you,” he reasons. He is now appearing on Zee TV’s Yahan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli in the role of a devoted husband. “The big bucks are in the big screen projects,but television sustains you with a generous trickle,keeps you in business and the homefires burning. I am fortunate to be in a position where I can be selective about the roles I am offered,” says the Kashmir-native,who studied in a Himachal Pradesh boarding school before joining Delhi University.

“I was in Delhi when I got to act in a Phalguni Pathak music video. I was signed in for some more by T-series,but they were called off. By the time I had shifted base to Mumbai and grew from strength to strength doing Kaisa Yeh Pyar on Sony and Imtiyaz Punjabi’s film Fun2sh,” recalls the actor who has just wrapped the shoot of a film called Unforgettable.

“The Ashtvinayak group,who produced Fun2sh have moved on to become a big name and make films only with the big stars,so I can’t complain about not getting a role,” says with objectivity that betrays no pang of remorse.
