Student held for sending threat mail to school
Kolkata: The CID arrested a student of Heritage School in Kolkata on Thursday for allegedly sending a mail to the principal threatening to blow off the school building. Rakesh Singh,a student of the Heritage School,was arrested from his residence at Bangur in the outskirts of the city for sending the mail on Wednesday,CID sources said. The CID,after being informed by the principal about the threat mail,conducted a probe and found that the mail was sent by Singh.

EC to meet state officials on July 7
Kolkata: Election Commissioners S Y Qureshi and V S Sampath will review the groundwork for next year’s Assembly elections in Bengal at a meeting with top officials here on July 7. They would meet Chief Secretary Ardhendu Sen,Home Secretary Samar Ghosh,DGP Bhupinder Singh and all DMs.

Suchitra Sen’s health improving
Kolkata: The condition of actress Suchitra Sen,who was hospitalised following a chest infection,is improving steadily. Sen,who was admitted to Belle Vue Clinic on June 20 ,“is taking normal diet”.
