Stating that the Akalis way of mourning 1984 riot victims was to get a film star to dance at the beginning of a pseudo kabaddi cup,Sanjha Morcha Chairman Manpreet Badal said the Kabbadi World Cup’s opening ceremony showed heights of insensitivity. “I am all for promoting sports. I have been an active sportsperson who played basketball at the national level and can understand the pain and anguish of sportsmen due to pitiable condition of sports in Punjab. But is this the way to promote sports?” said Manpreet.
