Government Bikram College of Commerce,Patiala,in collaboration with the Punjab Commerce and Management Association,organised a national conference on Business Process Re-engineering on Saturday.
In his inaugural address,Ashok Nayar,managing director of the State Bank of Patiala,talked about the radical changes in the banking sector. He said: In 1969,banking took a different direction for the interest of the common people turned from class banking to mass banking.
I J S Sethi,Advisor Drish Group Chandigarh,spoke on the manufacturing sector which includes six sigma and supply chain management.
Two parallel sessions were conducted during the conference by Inderjit Singh and Neelamjit Kaur Deol and Sandeep Mahajan. A number of research papers were presented and more than 100 delegates actively took part in the conference.
The post-lunch session was presided by Daljit Singh,Senior Director of Doordarshan Kendra Jalandhar,along with B S Bhatia,Director of RIMT Group of institutions,Mandi Gobindgarh and Guest of Honour Pawan Kumar Singla,Controller Examinations,Punjabi University Patiala.
