Sai aide granted bail

Surat: A close aide of Narayan Sai and a co-accused in the sexual assault case,Ganga alias Dharmishta Patel,was granted bail from a local court in Surat on Thursday afternoon. The court,while granting bail,stated that Ganga had no direct role in the sexual assault case lodged against Sai. She also had no criminal history and had left the ashram in 2009,got married with Pramod Mishra and started leading a social life.

A Surat girl had lodged a sexual assault complaint against Sai,Ganga,Jamna and Hanuman on October 6 with Jehangirpura police station. The Surat police team arrested Ganga alias Dharmishta Patel,along with her husband from Udaipur a few weeks ago and brought them to Surat for interrogation.

HC reserves order on Sai plea till Dec 2

AHMEDABAD: The Gujarat High Court on Thursday reserved its order on a petition moved by self-styled godman Asaram Bapu’s son,Narayan Sai,challenging a Non-Bailable Warrant (NBW) issued against him by a court in Surat. The court has posted the matter for dictation of order on December 2.
