The rape case was lodged by a former female devotee with Surat police in 2013. The court has also directed Sai to pay the victim a compensation of Rs 5 lakh. The Surat victim and her elder sister have been raped by Sai and Asaram respectively.
Sai was booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including rape, unnatural sex, molestation, wrongful confinement, unlawful assembly, rioting armed with deadly weapon, criminal intimidation and criminal conspiracy.
Narayan Sai, arrested in a rape case in 2013, is lodged in a Surat jail. The ED has sought the prosecution of Sai and others for money laundering in its complaint filed at the special PMLA court here, the agency said in a release.
