Bahraich (UP), Feb 24 (ANI): Addressing a rally in Uttar Pradesh's Bahraich, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah on Wednesday attacked the Congress for disrupting the Budget session over JNU row. He said the party should stop supporting 'anti-national' activities in the name of freedom of speech. Shah further asked the political parties sitting in Parliament that people who raise slogans like 'Bharat tere tukre honge', is freedom of speech or an act of sedition?

New Delhi, Feb 15 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah on Monday condemned the anti-national protests at the Jawaharlal Nehru University campus, saying that such activities would not be tolerated in the name of freedom of speech. Shah further criticised Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi for supporting the incident and asked that what more anti-India proof was required when students were shouting slogans like ‘har ghar me afzal honge', 'bharat tere tukkde honge’. He further said the Congress Party should make their stand clear as supporting such activities clearly indicated disrespect for the nation’s martyrs.

Taking to his blog to launch a attack on the Congress, especially Rahul Gandhi, Shah said the Congress vice-president has in his blind attempts to battle the Centre lost his ability to differentiate between ‘anti-state and nationalism’. The BJP president further questioned the Gandhi scion, asking him whether he wants the Centre to stay mum while a prestigious institute becomes a hub for anti-national activity. Shah also hit back at Gandhi for comparing the present state of affairs in the JNU to that of Nazi-occupied Germany, saying that if anyone was following Adolf Hitler’s ideology then it was Congress.

BJP holds meeting with allies ahead of Budget Session

New Delhi, Feb 09 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah held a meeting with party’s allies for a better coordination in the Parliament ahead of the Budget Session. During the meeting, held at the residence of Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu in New Delhi, a strategy was chalked out to present Government’s pro-poor policies. Apart from leaders of various National Democratic Alliance (NDA) allies, Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj were also present. Naidu said that Goods and Services Tax (GST) bill, which is likely to come up in the the next session, was also discussed in the meeting.

Congress, BJP lock horns over Arunachal Pradesh row

New Delhi, Jan 27 (ANI): Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit on Wednesday lashed out at the Bharatiya Janata Party for the political crisis in Arunachal Pradesh. He said that it is a “murder of constitution and democracy”. He said the duly elected government was not disturbed for many years, but as BJP came into power, it “gave money and destabilised” the state government. He accused BJP chief Amit Shah of political crisis in Arunachal Pradesh. Echoing similar sentiments, Congress legal cell head KC Mittal said the imposition of President rule in Arunachal Pradesh is totally uncalled for. He added that when the matter was in the Supreme Court, then the Centre should have not interfered. Mittal believed that this is not a constitutional crisis and has been totally made up. BJP leader Siddharthnath Singh, on the other hand, said the Congress just wanted to politicise each and every matter. He said the state government was taking cognizance of the matter and they are taking it seriously.
