A J&K court has framed charges against former Congress minister Shabir Khan in a sexual assault case.
Last year, a lady doctor had alleged that the former J&K health minister had assaulted her at his official chamber at the Srinagar civil secretariat.
The court has also rejected Khan’s plea in which he had requested the court that media should be restrained from reporting the case proceedings.

Chief Judicial Magistrate, Srinagar, Virender Singh observed that prima facie there is sufficient material to presume that the accused committed the offence under Section 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and 509 RPC (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman).
