Dev.D most overrated film: Anurag Kashyap
During a press event for Raman Raghav 2.0, psychological thriller, when asked to name the most overrated film in India, Kashyap said, "It has to be Dev D".
Dev.D, directed by Anurag, was a modern-day take on Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s classic Bengali novel Devdas.
Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, whose latest directorial venture Raman Raghav 2.0 hit theatres on Friday believes his 2009 black comedy Dev D is the most overrated film in India.
The film, which was a modern-day take on Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s classic Bengali novel Devdas, featured Abhay Deol, Mahie Gill and Kalki Koechlin in lead role.

During a press event for Raman Raghav 2.0, psychological thriller, when asked to name the most overrated film in India, Kashyap said, “It has to be Dev D”.
The movie was appreciated by critics and public and did a good business at box office. It also won several Filmfare awards, including Best Supporting Actress to Kalki Koechlin for playing Chanda.
