The Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) has announced the schedule for the 2026 board examinations for Classes 9, 10, 11, and 12. According to the board’s official post on X (formerly Twitter), the Class 10 and 12 exams will be held from February 12 to March 12, 2026, while the annual exams for Classes 9 and 11 are set to take place between March 10 and March 25, 2026.

The full-fledged timetable is awaited. Students who will appear for the Rajasthan Board can expect RBSE to release the schedule soon.

In November, Rajasthan Education Minister Madan Dilawar announced a major change to the RBSE examination system. Beginning with the 2026-27 academic session, the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education will conduct board exams twice a year.

All students must appear in the first board examination. Those who qualify can reappear in up to three subjects during the second attempt to improve their scores. The first main exam will be held in February–March, while the second opportunity exam will take place in May–June of the same academic year. Both exams will cover the full syllabus, with no changes in study or exam plans.

Students absent from the RBSE main exam may appear in the second opportunity, but only if they submit a valid medical certificate or receive authorisation from the district education officer (secondary). Students who receive a ‘supplementary’ result from the Rajasthan Board can take the second exam in up to three subjects, including supplementary subjects.

The examination fee will remain unchanged for both attempts, and the “best of two attempts” policy will be implemented, meaning the higher marks obtained in either exam will be considered for the final result. Minister Dilawar emphasised that this reform aims to reduce exam stress, provide students with greater flexibility, and align Rajasthan’s education system with the progressive objectives of NEP-2020

In addition to RBSE, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced that Class 10 board exams will now be conducted twice a year. CBSE will also permit students to appear for the second board exam to improve their results in up to three subjects. Students who are placed in the compartment exam category will have the chance to reappear in the second exam in the same category to enhance their scores.
