Kamlochan Kashyap, Deputy Inspector General of South Bastar, first encountered Madvi Hidma in 2007 after a deadly Maoist attack. Hidma rose to become a formidable leader, leading Battalion 1 in numerous deadly attacks on security forces. Despite years of pursuit, Hidma remained elusive due to challenging terrain and lack of police presence.
