India saw a surplus monsoon year in 2025 with above-normal rainfall and moderate temperatures. This resulted in a near-Goldilocks situation for agriculture. The wheat crop is expected to yield a record harvest due to excellent germination, crop vigor, and tillering. Other rabi crops are also expected to have bumper harvests. Additionally, food inflation has been curbed.
