The TISS on Monday issued an “immediate ban” on PSF, a students’ group affiliated to the Left-leaning Students Federation of India (SFI).

The opposition has called for a Maharashtra Bandh on August 24 to protest the alleged sexual abuse of two four-year-old girls by a cleaning staff at a Badlapur school on August 12 and 13.

Hundreds of people had come out in protest on Tuesday against the incident in a private school and staged agitations  at the Badlapur railway station and outside the school where the accused was a cleaning staff member.

According to the petitioner, he had converted from Islam to Hinduism and adopted a new name for the marriage. The petitioner and the woman had earlier this year performed marriage rituals according to Hindu Vaidik rites.
