Chatha Pacha trailer: Roshan Mathew, Arjun Ashokan step into the wrestling ring with a surprise cameo by Mammootty
The trailer of Chatha Pacha follows a group of passionate wrestling enthusiasts determined to introduce costume wrestling culture in Kochi.
The film will hit theatres on January 22.
Debutant filmmaker Adhvaith Nayar, who has previously worked as an assistant director with notable filmmakers like Jeethu Joseph and Rajeev Ravi, is all set to make his directorial debut with the action-comedy Chatha Pacha: The Ring of Rowdies. The film’s trailer was unveiled on Thursday evening, hinting at a fun spectacle set against Kochi’s underground wrestling scene. The movie stars Arjun Ashokan, Roshan Mathew, Ishan Shoukath, Vishak Nair, and Pooja Mohandas in lead roles and is slated for a theatrical release on 22 January 2026.
The trailer introduces viewers to a group of passionate wrestling enthusiasts determined to introduce wrestling culture in Kochi. Despite facing resistance from family, society, and even local politicians, they organize what they call “Friday Fight Night.” The narrative intensifies when Roshan Mathew’s character, freshly out of prison and trying to reconnect with his daughter, finds himself drawn into the wrestling setup. Rapid cuts, a rousing background score, and intense showdowns between rival groups give the trailer a gripping, fast-paced energy.

Adding to the excitement, the trailer teases a highly anticipated cameo by Mammootty, who reportedly shot his scenes after returning from a break. While his character isn’t fully revealed, the final frame shows a long-haired figure walking toward the ring, suggesting his presence will be a significant highlight. The film also marks the Malayalam debut of the celebrated composer trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. Complementing the music, Kalai Kingson, known for his work in Marco, choreographs the action sequences, with the background score composed by Kishkindha Kaandam’s Mujeeb Majeed.

Chatha Pacha: The Ring of Rowdies will release on January 22 not only in Malayalam but also in dubbed versions for Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi audiences.
