A video posted on Instagram shows a street vendor preparing “egg panipuri”. Panipuri, also known as golgappe or puchke in different parts of India, is one of the most popular street delicacies. It is easy to find a street vendor selling panipuri in every nook and cranny of the country. While many people crave the snack in its traditional form, there are also many variations that are available in the market.
A video posted on Instagram shows a street vendor preparing “egg panipuri” and it left netizens confused. A food blogger from Surat posted the video on his Instagram page (@surti_lalo) in May and it has received 2.2 million views.
The vendor starts the bizarre preparation by cutting boiled eggs into two halves. He has removed the yolk of the eggs and is seen putting tomato ketchup in the albumen. He put dollops of cream on the eggs and then garnished cheese on it. Then he added salt and coriander in the end.

What surprised netizens was why it was called panipuri when it did not even have any of those ingredients.
“Where is the Pani and Puri??” commented a user. “Pani and the Puri left the chat,” said another. “Gym bros on pani puri date,” posted a third. “Who else was waiting for Panipuri,” wrote another user. “This is the foulest thing i’ve ever had the displeasure of seeing,” another netizen expressed.
