Mumbai airport concert amid IndiGo flight delays sparks frustration In the clip, passengers are seen quietly listening, some even filming the spontaneous performance

As IndiGo’s large-scale flight cancellations continue to throw travel plans into chaos across India, one stranded flyer at Mumbai airport decided to lift everyone’s spirits by turning the terminal into his own mini-concert venue.

Singer Zayn Raza posted a reel on Instagram showing himself sitting on the floor with his guitar, performing the early-2000s hit Woh Lamhe for weary travellers. In the clip, passengers are seen quietly listening, some even filming the spontaneous performance as they waited for updates on their delayed flights.

Raza leaned into humour in his caption: “Flight delay tha… toh live concert shuru kar diya. IndiGo ne delay diya, maine melody diya. Mumbai to Patna became Mumbai to Pata Nahi Kab Jayenge. (There was a flight delay… so I started a live concert. IndiGo gave a delay, I gave melody. Mumbai to Patna became Mumbai to ‘God knows when we’ll go.)”

His bio describes him as a singer, songwriter, composer and “corporate guy”, and he also fronts SAZA The Band as its vocalist and lyricist.

The clip has quickly gone viral. Viewers flooded the comments with praise, one user wrote, “Thank god someone is calm on internet.”

Another user commented, “Such a mood changer for every around in that chaos… music always does its wonders.” A third person added, “Thank god atleast in this chaotic situation we had someone sensible, it is completely normal to become angry nd looseour cntrl but u did a great job diverting their mind.”

A fourth individual commented, “Only in india we enjoy even in tough times …baaki yeh kahin aur hota toh sab frustrated log dikhte.”

The light-hearted moment surfaced amid a serious operational crisis for IndiGo. The airline has been cancelling hundreds of flights for days and has warned that disruptions will continue until December 8, Reuters reported.

The problems are believed to stem from newly enforced crew-safety regulations that disrupted IndiGo’s scheduling. The airline has told the DGCA that it expects full normalcy only by February 10. Until then, IndiGo says it will continue with “calibrated adjustments” while teams work “around the clock” to stabilise operations and reduce passenger discomfort.
