Actor Rohit Roy has never been shy about expressing his passions — especially when it comes to bikes. His Instagram feed is a testament to this love for riding. But recently, the actor revealed some lesser-known, yet equally fascinating, aspects of his life. Rohit appeared on the podcast Shaardulogy, where host Shardul posed a rather controversial question: “I have heard a lot of times that when men struggle to deal with their emotions, they either buy cars or end up having an affair. How true is that?” Rohit, with his signature wit, quipped, “I am not allowed to do both.”
But he admitted there’s some truth to the saying — though not in the way most people think.
“This is true,” he said. “You just mentioned two things, but there are so many other ways men deal with emotions. In my case, I go buy watches.”
He added, “Obviously, it’s not practical to buy a car every time I am hurt, but I am addicted to buying shoes. My best friend and I have over 150 shoes. And we’ve both accepted that this has been our stress buster. So a Rs 20,000 shoe helps us burst our stress.”
He revealed that the friend he was referring to is fellow actor Sameer Soni. “We’ve now decided to send each other pictures of the things we are planning to do. Even Manish Paul is a great friend,” Rohit added, highlighting how his inner circle keeps him grounded.

Rohit also touched on a truth about human struggles: “A lot of times you cannot say it from someone’s face, but every other person is going through something or the other.”
However, he was unequivocal when it came to affairs: “I don’t know if affairs happen under stress or duress. That’s just an excuse men probably make to have an affair. You have an affair either out of boredom, or attraction to someone else. Sometimes also because your own life is not going the way you plan — but these are all weaknesses. Anybody who uses it as an excuse is probably the biggest coward on earth.”
Rohit Roy, 57, has been married to actor Manasi Joshi Roy since 1999. The couple, together, have a daughter named Kiara Bose Roy.
