Dhurandhar box office collection day 3: Ranveer Singh's film hits Rs 100 crore.
Ranveer Singh’s much-anticipated spy actioner Dhurandhar finally hit theatres this Friday, marking his biggest opening ever with Rs 27 crore. The film is expected to grow further over the weekend, and audiences are already buzzing about the promised Part 2 teased at the end. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film features a strong ensemble cast including Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Rakesh Bedi, and Sara Arjun. Running for around 214 minutes, Dhurandhar ends with a clear promise of “revenge,” leaving fans eager to know what comes next. Here’s a breakdown of the ending, the post-credit scene, and the release date of Part 2.
Spoilers ahead
Dhurandhar Part 1 ending explained
For most of its runtime, Aditya Dhar draws the audience deep into the violent gang wars and political nexus of Lyari, Pakistan, through the eyes of protagonist Hamza (Ranveer Singh). In the climax, Hamza completes the first phase of his mission, eliminating the syndicate kingpin Rehman Dakait (Akshaye Khanna). He executes the plan with the help of SP Chaudhary Aslam (Sanjay Dutt) and local politician Jameel Jamali (Rakesh Bedi).
The sweeping narrative is structured in chapters, with the final chapter titled Et Tu Brutus, a direct nod to William Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar. The title symbolises betrayal by someone closest, mirroring Hamza’s betrayal of Rehman when he kills him. In the final moments, this betrayal haunts Hamza: in a hospital corridor, he hallucinates Rehman staring back at him from a blood-soaked stretcher. Later, he returns home, collapses in Yaalina’s (Sara Arjun) arms, and begs her for food.
Akshaye Khanna’s character dies at the end of Part 1.
The story then cuts to a flashback set in 2002, where Ajay Sanyal (R Madhavan) formulates a covert mission. Ranveer’s character’s real name, Jaskirat, is revealed here. He is assigned a singular objective by Ajay: to infiltrate Pakistan’s most dangerous terror networks and extract intelligence from within. This covert operation is termed ‘Dhurandhar’. Simultaneously, Ajay briefs a high-level political panel, concluding with the statement that the mission has “only just begun.”
Dhurandhar Part 1 post-credits scene
In the dead of night, Hamza wakes up and opens a secret diary handed to him by another Indian operative. He wipes off Rehman’s name, signaling the end of that chapter, and turns the page, revealing more names, including ISI’s Major Iqbal (Arjun Rampal). A rapid-fire montage follows: flashes of a young Jaskirat, the violence inflicted on his family. We then also see Hamza’s eventual rise in Lyari’s underworld, and Karachi’s people choosing him as their new leader with Jameel’s support. In the midst of this montage, we see a glimpse of a brutal hand-to-hand battle between Arjun Rampal’s Iqbal and Ranveer Singh’s Hamza, clearly setting up the conflict for Part 2.

Dhurandhar Part 2 release date
The film ends with the title card: “Dhurandhar to be continued”, followed by the word “Revenge” and a release date, March 19, 2026. The last line we hear is Ranveer saying: “Yeh naya Hindustan hai, ye ghar mein ghusega bhi aur marega bhi.” (This is the new India, it will enter your home if it has to, and it will strike you down as well). It is the same dialogue Aditya Dhar famously used in his debut feature Uri: The Surgical Strike.
Interestingly, Dhurandhar 2 is currently set to clash with Yash’s Toxic, the Kannada superstar’s first film since the KGF series, and Ajay Devgn’s Dhamaal 4, both of which have locked the same date. With the release falling on the long Eid weekend, the box office could see an intense battle for screens unless one of the films changes its plans.
