Recently, tensions surrounding H-1B visas have intensified, and perceptions of Indian immigrants in the United States are shifting.
Many H-1B visa holders are experiencing significant backlash, driven by extremist beliefs that they are “stealing” jobs from Americans.
Predominantly utilised by skilled professionals from India, the H-1B visa enables them to work in specialised roles within the U.S.
Along similar lines, a video is circulating on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), which has sparked outrage by highlighting a clear instance of racism directed at Indian immigrants.
The video, shared by X user Alex Rosen, features an American man visiting Indian-run shops and asking for signatures for a petition aimed at ‘stopping the spread of the H-1B virus,‘ in a mocking tone throughout.
“Getting Indians to sign to stop the spread of the H-1B Virus,” Rosen stated in a caption while posting the video on X, to gather support against it.

When enquired about the symptoms, the guy mentions “diarrhoea” and “smell,” adding that it “originates from India.”
Concludingly, in the end, he demands the newly elected President of the US, Donald Trump, to “Man up.”
The video has garnered over a million views and has elicited a range of reactions online, with many users slamming the man’s behaviour as racist.
They argued that it not only targets individuals based on their ethnicity but also distorts the positive impact H-1B workers have on the U.S. economy.
If you really want to stop this, go to Corporate offices and get the CEOs to sign it. Why harass few convenience store owners ? The video and your act shows your ignorance on the H1B visa .
