An Oklahoma-based chiropractor, Dr Joren Whitley, is making headlines after a series of videos showed him making some neck adjustments for a 16-foot male giraffe named Gerry. The incident has sparked fascination and debate.

According to some The Washington Post reports, Whitley took on the daunting task of addressing Gerry’s neck issues, causing difficulty in the giraffe’s jaw movement.

In one of the videos, Whitley is seen standing on a raised platform to access the towering animal’s neck.

Reacting to the video, one user said, “We got giraffe chiropractors before gta 6”. Another user commented, “Aw he smiled! You can see the relief!” A third user said, “He’s so comfortable. When he gets it in the right place.”

Whitley primarily treats dogs, but has also worked with a diverse range of animals, including chickens, and even an injured bat. One particularly notable case involved adjusting sedated lions in South Africa, showcasing the breadth of his experience in animal chiropractic care, reported The Washington Post.

Despite skepticism from some quarters about the efficacy of chiropractic treatments, Gerry’s owner told The Washington Post the positive effects of the care he received from Whitley. The giraffe’s chewing reportedly improved post the procedure, providing anecdotal evidence of its potential benefits for animals.
