After being homeless for 10 years, 6 sisters to begin nursing course together

In a heartwarming incident, six sisters, who have been homeless for the past 10 years, will start a nursing course together in the US. Amid financial constraints, their parents David and Yonette lost their home in the New York City borough of Queens in 2013. While they have been living with relatives and friends, their parents did not let it affect their dreams of becoming nurses, People reported.

A photograph showing them smiling gleefully donning gowns and caps along with their parents, shared by Good News Movement on Instagram, has melted hearts online. Many were inspired by their tale and greetings poured in the comments section.

The post said the siblings were homeschooled and attended Nassau Community College together. Later, they attended a master’s programme in public health at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University and will pursue a course in nursing.

“I’m so happy they’ve done this together,” David, the proud dad, told People. “I always tell them, ‘Life’s not fair. And when it throws you a curveball, you gotta adjust to it and keep going’,” he added.
