Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Thursday directed officials to integrate a maximum number of online facilities into health services to improve accessibility, transparency and service delivery. Chairing a review meeting with senior officers of the Health Department, National Health Mission and the Directorate of Medical Education, the Chief Minister announced the constitution of a committee under the chairmanship of Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr (Colonel) Dhani Ram Shandil to prepare a roadmap for digital integration. The committee has been asked to submit its report within ten days.

Sukhu said online services would save time and resources while improving the quality of healthcare. He directed the development of an online patient registration system across health institutions and hospitals. Emphasising effective implementation of the Himcare Scheme, he said mapping should be ensured up to the panchayat level and treatment-related patient data should be integrated. He also directed the linking of the ABHA card with the Him Parivar portal.

Sukhu said digital initiatives would strengthen monitoring, online record maintenance and grievance redressal mechanisms, besides enhancing accountability. He added that online health services would aid better planning, efficient administration and innovation, contributing to the goal of healthy citizens and a strong state. The Chief Minister said health infrastructure in Himachal Pradesh was also being strengthened with support from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

Earlier in the day, the Chief Minister launched the official website of the State Allied and Health Care Council, Himachal Pradesh, http://www.sahchp.in. He described it as a significant step towards digital governance, transparency and efficiency in the allied and healthcare sector. The website will serve as a user-friendly platform for health professionals, institutions, students and the general public.

Sukhu said Himachal Pradesh was among the leading states in implementing the National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions Act, strengthening the concept of “One Nation, One Curriculum, One Registration” and ensuring uniform standards. Chairman of the Council Vinod Chauhan briefed the Chief Minister on the website’s features. Senior officers and legislators were present on both the occasions.
