14-year-old TikToker from Myanmar falls to death while clicking selfie atop waterfall

Moe Sa Nay fell onto rocks at the Sinywa waterfall in Paung in Myanmar's Mon state last week.

TikTokerMoe Sa Nay was 14.

Days after 27-year-old travel influencer Aanvi Kamdar tragically lost her life while recording an Instagram reel in Maharashtra, a TikTok star from Myanmar has fallen to her death while taking a selfie atop a waterfall.

In an X post, Daily Mail Online said that Moe Sa Nay, 14, was taking photos with her friend when she slipped from rocks at the Sinywa waterfall in Paung in Myanmar’s Mon state on July 22.

Nay was caught in the fast-flowing waters and trapped between two large boulders, as reported by the local media. She could not free herself and drowned in the strong current. Rescuers could not reach there in time and had difficulty removing her body from the rocks the next morning.

Volunteers and firefighters struggled to free the girl’s body on July 23. They eventually used ropes to pull her from the rocks. Another girl had also slipped onto the rocks but escaped with minor injuries, according to the rescue workers.

The post quoted a rescue worker, Mon Zaw, as saying that Nay had reached the bottom and died after getting stuck between the rocks, unable to escape despite rescue attempts.

Rescue workers took her body to Paung Township General Hospital for a postmortem.
