India will start their campaign against the UAE and then meet Pakistan later. In their final group game, they will clash against Malaysia.
All eyes will be on Mhatre, who has shown glimpses of what he can do at the IPL level and has also played some remarkable innings at the age-group level. In addition to that, Vaibhav Suryavanshi too will be under the scanner, who is already making waves across world cricket.
The pitches in Dubai tend to be a bit on the slower side in the day games; however, since it is the first game of the tournament and a morning one, we might see a bit of moisture in the surface, which might assist seam bowlers who can swing the ball. As per batters, if they do apply themselves, we might see them able to put on a big total on the board.

Uddish Suri finishes unbeaten on 78 off 106 balls, Saleh Amin on 20 off 35 balls. Deepesh Devendran is the highest wicket-taker with two scalps while Kishan Singh, Henil Patel, Khilan Patel and Vihaan Malhotra finish on one wicket each. As many as nine players bowled for India today. The star of the day, of course, will be Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who blasted a record 171 in 95 balls.
Madhu gets his half-century and then falls on 50 off 87 balls. His partnership with Suri ends on 85 off 144. Vihaan Malhotra is the man who gets the wicket.
UAE 138/7 in 37.4 overs
Some fight at last with the seventh wicket stand between Prithvi Madhu and Uddish Suri now reaching 83 off 128 balls. Madhu is on 44 in 79, Suri on 41 in 58. The game is pretty much gone for them though, with UAE needing 296 to win from 86 balls.
Henil Patel has erred a bit on the shorter side here. He did manage to bowl that cracking delivery early in the piece to pick up the wicket, but since then he did not find the ideal length for this surface. Regardless his natural lenght will be quite handy in the South African conditions where the world is going to be held.
It is one of those things about these pitches in the UAE where the new ball is your best bet to pick wickets, and once the ball gets through the middle overs, batting tends to get easy. We are seeing a similar case here with the UAE. Both these batters, Madhu and Suri, have batted quite well in the middle today.
Seamers have come back into the attack for their second spells, and also left-arm spinner Khilan has been replaced by off-spinner Kanishk Chouhan. This has been good tidy bowling from the Indian and captaincy has been quite smart from Mhatre espically in rotation of the bowlers.
Devendran has bowled a good long spell here under the heat. He is five overs into the spell. Given how much the UAE has struggled against the seamers here, it might not be a bad ploy for the Indian skipper Mhatre to consider bringing back in his new ball bowlers for 2-3 overs bursts each with a spinner operating.
This has been a superb spell from Devendran. He has bowled at the right areas right from ball one, and he has scalped the wickets. He does seem to be a perfect first-change bowler going into that World Cup in South Africa. This attack without not a lot of help have managed to extract a lot if there is something on offer they will be even more lethal.
Both Devendran and Khilan Patel have backed up the new ball bowlers nicely here. They have not just bowled tidily but also managed to bowl those wicket-tacking deliveries. And as we update, Devendran has picked up his second wicket, it was a cutter which the batter Ayobi threw his hands at, and keeper Kundu took a lovely catch diving to his right.
Two more wickets have fallen here for the UAE. First, it was a runout of Misbah, and then left-arm spinner Khilan Patel bowled a cracking delivery to Khudadad. The ball pitched and turned away from the batter, and the batter lost his off-stump. It did look good for a bit for the UAE, but it does seem like now they are falling apart.
If the innings is just looked at in isolation without the target, it has been a pretty good effort from the UAE batters. Ryan Khan has batted quite well in the middle. Well, we jinxed it. Devendran has come into the attack and has picked up the wicket, and it is Ryan Khan who has fallen. It was a good length delivery which he edged to the keeper.
Both the UAE batters, after those initial jitters, have batted quite nicely in the middle. There is not a lot of help for the Indian bowlers, but because of the discipline with which they have bowled early on, they have created breakthroughs. Both Rayan and Misbah have batted well in the middle sensibly, which is the word that has helped them to put on this decent foundation.
Both the Indian seamers have started well here. They have hit the right lines and lengths first up, bringing different sorts of dismissals into play. While Kishan has been quite economical Henil has managed to give away few runs because of his height he has managed to pitch the ball a tad bit on the shorter side.
D Souza tried to work the ball on the leg-side and ended up getting the leading edge. The ball went up in the air, and a simple catch was taken at mid-wicket. As we update, Yayin Rai has fallen. Henil Patel nipped one into the batter and drew him forward and he ended up in no mans land lost his stumps.
Kishan Kumar and Henil have taken the new ball for India. Since they have runs under their belt to play with, it is quite possible that they might look to push for wickets with attacking fields. In the afternoon it might not be a realistic idea to extract swing and seam moment. As we update Kumar has picked up D Souza.
That's the end of the first innings, and India has managed to put on a massive 433 runs on the board thanks to a century from Vaibhav. It was an electric knock from the batter right from ball one. He was well supported by Arun George and later by Malhotra. As per the UAE's bowling, Yug Sharma is one bright spot, and apart from that, others have been quite ordinary. Yug Sharma has got the wicket of Kanishk Chauhan here. He was batting quite superbly was the batter but he could not clear the boundary this time and was caught on the boundary line. That is the sixth wicket down for India. Also, they have gone past 400 runs in the game, which is the highest in the U-19 ACC Asia Cup.
Suri has picked up Malhotra here. It was a ball down the leg-side which the batter tried to sweep and ended up giving a catch to the keeper. That is the fifth wicket down. Malhotra had to stay in the middle and help his side post a total but not meant to be today.
D Souza has picked up the wicket of Trivedi here. Finally, another wicket has fallen for India. Regardless, they have managed to put on a massive score on the board already. Kundu is the new batter who has walked in. He needs to get after the bowling right away here.
A 50-run stand between Trivedi and Malhotra has come up. It has been a nice, mature innings from both the batters. It could have been easy for them to get carried away with the innings Suryavanshi has played up top and try to continue that innings, but it did not happen. They have played each ball on its merit and have built their innings nicely.
India has gone past 300 already here with 10 overs remaining. At one point with the way Suryavanshi was batting 450 was looking a possibility but now the way the last 10 have gone they might end up with around 380 score which will still be a pretty good total on this pitch with bowling attack India has.
Another nice partnership brewing between Malhotra and Trivedi here. This is where the UAE could have been a bit more proactive and stopped batters from taking singles with extra fielders inside the ring. Both these batters, with that partnership, have ensured that they are building a good platform for the final overs.
What an innings it has been from Suryavanshi. He slammed the ball all around the park; anything which was in his arc, he sent it over the ropes. It is impossible to tell how big a cricketer can make at this stage of his career, but the promise Suryavanshi is showing is looking pretty good. He might well end up scoring a massive run to his name.
Uddish Suri has picked up the wicket of Vaibhav Suryavanshi. He tried to play the scoop shot and missed the ball completely, and the stumps got cleaned. That is a massive wicket for the UAE. It did seem like they were wandering around with their bowling plans, but with that wicket now, the UAE might consider pulling back things.
India has gone past the 250-mark around the 30th over. If the logic of doubling the score after the 30th over is applied, India is looking to get around that 500-mark. And the way the UAE is bowling here, there seems to be a white flag raised here. After seeing how Suryavanshi have gone, the bowling and plans seem like they are just looking for damage control here.
Yayin Rai has picked up Arun George here. The batter tried to whack the ball through the mid-wicket boundary and ended up giving a catch to the mid-wicket fielder, who dived across and took a lovely catch. Relieved man is the UAE captain as the partnership here has come to an end.
George, too, has played quite nicely here. He has complemented Suryavanshi's innings brilliantly seems like an accumulator, which is what the number three in this format needs. But now the question is, will he be able to accelerate through the innings when it comes to that? The way Suryavanshi is batting at this point no need for any of that until he is in the middle.
That is a brilliant ton from Suryavanshi. He has scored it in 56 deliveries, the second joint fastest at this level. He is showing no signs of slowing down here. The pace at which he is scoring here, and there is an opportuntiy of him to score a double ton in this game.
The score is already looking ominous here for the UAE. Vaibhav Suryavanshi did give an opportunity off Suri's bowling, which they managed to spill. The way Vaibhav is batting here in the middle might end up being a costly drop. In fact, he slammed a six the following delivery and reminded us what a dangerous player he is.
It has been all India so far in this game. UAE did have something to smile about when they picked up that first wicket, but after that, it has been Suryavanshi's show. He has taken the bowler apart. Meanwhile, George from the other end has also complimented him quite well.
Suryavanshi has got to his half-century here in quick time. Seems like the decision to bowl first is not working out well for the UAE. Yug Sharma did bowl well with the new ball, but the bowlers from the other end failed to support him. Also there is not too much to work with for the bowlers on this wicket the ball is coming nicely onto the bat.
Suryavanshi is giving a pasting to the bowling here. Anything which is pitched up and allows him to swing his bat freely, he is doing it. Suryvanshi is racing into the 40s here in quick time. If anything, he did not have much of a strike for the last 20 minutes or so. He has found himself at the non-striker's end for too long.
Its a good partnership between Suryavanshi and George. The former has started well, and as the innings went on, he did settle into a nice rhythm in his batting. As per George, as soon as he walked in, he looked like a million-dollar player with a sublime cover drive to start with. India will be hoping to put on a good score here.
There is a bowling change here from the UAE. They have brought in a right-arm-seamer into the attack. One of the errors or something which the UAE will consider moving forward is the usage of spin in the first few overs. Could they have done better with a seamer from the other end with the early start? Only they can answer.
Sooryavanshi has started well here. He has gone after the bowling right away. UAE has opted to start with a spinner from the other end here, who has been thrashed around the park. It does seem like a brilliant surface to bat on, and we might see India put on a massive total in this first innings if they do apply themselves.
Yug Sharma has picked up the first wicket here. The left-arm seamer moved the ball away from the angle around that fourth stump channel, which Mhatre edged for the keeper to take the catch. As he grows on to become a big player, he will need to make a habit of leaving those deliveries, especially in the 50-over format of the game.

We are done with the opening over, and there was neither much swing nor seam movement for the UAE new-ball bowler. Both these openers are quite attacking, and regardless of the format, they will look to take on the bowling. And if the UAE's new ball contingent misses their lines and lengths, they will run away with the game.

Priyank Panchal, now retired Indian first-class stalwart, posted on X that he could see Vaibhav getting fastracked to the Indian senior side soon. "This is simply insane. I’ve a feel Vaibhav will be fast-tracked into the senior team within two years. Whether that’s a right call or not, only time will tell. I’ll hold back such temptations for a while. But such performances are simply too exemplary to be ignored!"
Suryavanshi smashed an extraordinary 32-ball century for India A in Doha againt UAE at the Asia Cup Rising Stars on Friday. With Chris Gayle's record of 175 well in his sights, Vaibhav eventually fell for a 42-ball 144 in just the 13th over of the match T20 match. His knock included a stunning total of 15 sixes and 11 fours, a total of 26 deliveries off the 42 he faced going to or beyond the boundary, sometimes travelling well beyond the fence.
In fact, the total of 134 of 144 runs (93.05%) in boundaries has only been bettered by three men for runs in 4s and 6s in a T20 match. In the process, the 14-year-old also became the only man to score two T20 centuries in 35 balls or fewer – he had already scored a 35-ball century for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL against Gujarat Titans.
