Preetha Banerjee, a Twitter user who describes herself as a social media executive, had the most horrific experience with Uber as she explained the entire episode on the micro-blogging site. Banerjee was tweeting while taking the trip on September 8. She claimed the driver named Kunwar threatened to throw her out of the car after she asked him to increase the level of the air conditioner in the cab. “This is my car & I will decide how cold it gets in here,” said the driver, Banerjee claims. The driver argued with her and even said she had no manners.
Banerjee immediately tweeted out to Uber India which intervened and helped her reach home, safe. According to the protocol, Uber asked her to share the details of her trip and end it if she felt unsafe.
Banerjee alleged that the driver cancelled all other trips that were appearing on his app which made her feel more unsafe. “Also, I’m Uber pooling and he cancelled all other pool alerts coming to his phone, making it more unsafe! I am a girl travelling alone and he clearly has a distemper and I am feeling scared,” she wrote.
Amid all this, she also said that the driver was driving rash and almost bumped into another bus. “He almost crashed into a bus! Will this hell-ride ever end?” she wrote.
