UP: Kushwaha loses Cabinet minister status

Kushwaha was elevated to the post of national general secretary in the party.

A day after he was sacked from the post of national general secretary of the Samajwadi Party (SP),Ram Asrey Kushwaha was on Thursday removed by Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav as chairman of Remote Sensing Application Centre with immediate effect on Wednesday. Kushwaha has thus lost the cabinet minister status given to him by the government.

Kushwaha was elevated to the post of national general secretary in the party along with former minister Vishambher Prasad Nishad in 2009 with an eye on Kushwaha and Nishad votes. In 2012,Kushwaha was made chairman of Remote Sensing Application Centre and given cabinet ministers rank.
