Govt defends Khurshid

Saying the 2G scam case in the Supreme Court has turned into a political interest litigation,the government on Tuesday denied allegations made in a PIL filed by Centre for Public Interest Litigation that Law Minister Salman Khurshid used his influence to give a clean chit to Loop Telecom and Essar Group,an accused in the scam.

The plea that interference of an influential minister is evident,is baseless8230; It is emphatically denied that the Law Minister is publicly giving clean chit to Essar/ Loop. The matter is in the domain of the CBI and the court,which will take an independent view the matter, the government said in its reply.
