LONDON: A British Conservative Party lawmaker arrested on suspicion of sexual assault vigorously denies any allegations of wrongdoing. Andrew Bridgen said he is willingly cooperating with police after being bailed on late Thursday following allegations of assaulting a 29-year-old woman in central London.

Alaska releases Palin e-mails
ANCHORAGE: The state of Alaska has released copies of some of former governor Sarah Palins emails. Over 24,000 pages of printed emails to and from Palin were made available Friday to those willing to pay 725 for copies. Some critics say the emails will show Palin exhibited a pattern of using state resources for personal gain.
Women lost in Nepal ate grass to survive
KATMANDU: A Japanese woman who was lost in Nepals mountains for nearly two weeks said Friday that she survived by eating grass and taking shelter in small caves. Makiko Iwafuchi,49,left her hotel May 25 for a stroll near Goshainkunda lake,but got lost. She was saved when she heard voices from a nearby village.

WASHINGTON: Leon Panetta,the man to take over as Americas next Defence Secretary has said the war against terrorism in Afghanistan can only be won if the terrorist safe heavens are uprooted inside Pakistan. We can only win in Afghanistan if we can win in Pakistan by reducing those safe havens. The two go hand in hand, Panetta told US lawmakers at his confirmation hearing.
