Manipuri outfit commander held in Bangalore

New Delhi: A self-styled commander-in-chief of the banned Manipuri outfit,Kangleipak Communist Party MC,was arrested from Bangalore by a Delhi Police team on May 5,the police said on Tuesday. Nangthanbam Anand alias Malengamba 36 was allegedly involved in throwing bombs at Imphal Raj Bhavan in 2008.

Bofors: Court wants original papers

NEW DELHI: A Delhi court on Tuesday directed the CBI to produce the original documents related to Bofors payoff scam seized by it in 1997 from Win Chadha,an accused in the case. Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Vinod Yadav asked the CBI to produce the documents on May 12 after the agency submitted that it had no objection in releasing them.

Jamp;K militants shoot at sarpanch candidate

Srinagar: A sarpanch candidate was shot at and injured by suspected militants in Sopore township of north Kashmirs Baramulla district on Tuesday,officials said. No militant outfit has claimed responsibility for the incident so far.

Binayak can go to Korea for award

Eleven NREGA officials suspended
