HC CJ to watch Emotional Atyachaar

New Delhi: Delhi High Court Chief Justice Dipak Misra on Wednesday decided to watch the last two episodes of reality show Emotional Atyachaar on UTV Bindass to see if it is vulgar and obscene. The court was responding to a petitioners claim that the programme flouted governments censorship guidelines. The HC asked advocate Neerak Kishan Kaul,appearing for UTV Bindass,to submit CDs of the episodes and hold a screening on July 19.

Vehicles washed away,jawan dead

AMBALA: An army man died and five others swam to safety after they along with two army vehicles were washed away in Beghna river in Naraingarh. The army personnel had gone to Sahazadpur area for an exercise on Tuesday when the water gushed in the river from its catchment area following overnight rains and swept away the truck and the jeep they were sleeping in,SDM O P Sharma said. The body of the sixth army man was found about five kms away,he added.

2 Maoists escape,10 cops suspended

RAIPUR: Ten police personnel have been suspended in Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh,after two Naxals escaped from Narayanpur jail. SP Mayank Shrivastav said the police had arrested six alleged naxals from Dhaudai area on Tuesday. Ten personnel from the Narayanpur police station had been suspended and a departmental inquiry had been initiated,he said,adding that police had launched man-hunt for the escaped prisoners.

Government clears Mirage deal

New Delhi: The government has cleared a 2.3 billion deal to upgrade the Air Forces fleet of Mirage 2000 fighter aircraft that will not only increase their service life by two decades but will also equip them with latest avionics and electronic systems. The Cabinet Committee on Security on Wednesday cleared the deal for upgrading 51 fighters.

Kirti Azad arrested,granted bail

Patna: Darbhanga police on Wednesday arrested BJP MP and former cricketer Kirti Azad in a 2001 case of interrupting public servants from doing their duty during a dharna. He was later granted bail.
