Mommie dearestReen Wadhwa who turned producer with Neeyat is making headlines. Well she brings in the concept of surrogate motherhood to the box in her latest soap Ek Mulaqat on Star Plus. In case you didn8217;t know the term surrogate mother, it means having a child through some one else when the wife can8217;t conceive. I8217;ve always wanted to be different and I love to experiment and this concept is interesting8217; says the actress cum producer. Bhooshan Banmali who pens this serial and is introducing this concept, is quite excited as it8217;s never been thought of or done on television. 8220;It8217;s actually happened in Maharashtra 20 years back and I wanted to make a film on this but now we8217;ll educate the public through our serial8221; claims Banmati. Director Vijay Pande feels that a lady who hires out her womb to someone should be allowed to do so legally as there is nothing wrong in it. 8220;This can solve a lot of problems of many families. People do adopt kids. So why not allow this too?. We8217;ll make people aware of it,8221; heargues.
Fighting fit
We had told you that now Himesh Reshammiya takes over Colgate Top Ten. But there8217;s been a little change. First it will be Rajan Waghdhare of Shrimaan Shrimati who will do 13 episodes of the show which starts this week. It stars Ashok Saraf, Reema Lagoo and Rakesh Bedi as neighours. Ashok Saraf plays a hot tempered hyper Jagannath Rao while Bedi is just opposite and very cool. It8217;s about the fights and quarrels in a society. Waghdhare says that it8217;s the same sitcom format with songs but with a proper story and is written by Ashok Patole who8217;s written Shrimaan Shrimati and Tere Ghar ke Samne. 8220;I8217;m trying to portray the correct picture of our society and I8217;m indirectly trying to show what are social rights are8221; says Waghdhare. Whatever that means.
