Suicide
The Limbayat police are investigating a case where a 55-year-old man residing at Mahaprabhunagar in Limbayat area, died because of consuming acid late on Wednesday night. Hanumant Pamu (55) consumed half a bottle of acid at around 11 p.m. on Wednesday and was rushed immediately to the Maskati hospital where he was declared dead after an hour of being admitted, the police said. A case under CrPC 174 has been registered at the police station and is being investigated.

Burns death
Twenty-year-old Sangeetaben Chaudhary, who was boiling milk over a primus stove on Thursday morning, received severe burn injuries when the stove exploded, the Katargam police said. She died before she was shifted to the Parsi General hospital, the police added. According to the police the deceased had received 70 percent burns on her face and upper body. A case under section 174 of the Code of Criminal Procedure has been registered at the police station and is being investigated.

Brawl
The Katargam police are investigating a case where residents of a building, after pulling down a wall separating two apartments, indulged in stone-throwing and arguments with residents of the other building. Residents of the Makanji Park Society lodged a police complaint, naming Velji Patel, Bhupat Thakkar, Bachubhai Patel, Bhupat Karsadia and another 25 women of the Harihar Society as accused, for breaking down the society wall and hurling stones at them. The case is being investigated

Vehicle theft
A motorcycle (GJ 5 LL 3707) belonging to one Durlabh Patel was stolen from the J D Restaurant at Varachha Road area of the city on Wednesday night, a case registered in the police station said. Patel, who resides at Singanpore Road, complained to the police that he had parked his vehicle at Varachha Road from where it was stolen. A case under IPC 379 has been registered at the police station and is being investigated.
