Sugar quota for N-E increased

AIZAWAL: The Centre has increased the monthly sugar quota per person for the North-east and the hill states, including Sikkim, Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh from 425 gm to 700 gm with effect from February one, 2000. According to the official, the quota was increased in view of the chilly weather conditions in the region. Extra intake of sugar helps the human body fight cold.
