CHANDIGARH, May 24: The Sports Authority of India have floated a special scheme to give incentive to SAI coaches. All coaches, who are working under the various schemes of the department and also with State governments will be granted special increments for producing international level sportspersons. Coaches whose trainee win medal in the Olympics and Commonwealth Games will get a maximum of five increments.

A coach can get a minimum of three and maximum of five special increments over a period of one year. Increments will be restricted, if the same sportsperson continues to win medals in different competitions under different coach.

Coaches whose trainee win medal at the National and State level competitions in both senior and junior categories will be given cash awards. For gold medal the award is Rs 5000. The coach will get Rs 2000, if his trainee wins silver and Rs 1000, if bronze.

At the State level, the coach whose trainee win a gold medal in both senior and junior group will get Rs 1000.

Apart from special increments and cash awards, the coaches will also be awarded certificate of appreciation.

An assessment committee with Director General, SAI, as its head will also be constituted for the implementation of the scheme. The Coaching Division, SAI will be convener and will check all the relevant records before making a suitable recommendation.

Batting first Khalsa CC scored 183 runs in the allotted 20 overs. Kulwinder 32 Ravi 30 and Gurpreet 27 were other batsmen to score for the team.

For PEB Devinder and Nirmal made 20 runs each.

The match between Mohali Gymkhana Club and Vishal Cricket Club was abandon.
