Pune district grab second spot
The Taekowondo Association of Pune District fared well, bagging nine medals in the recently concluded Invitational Inter district Taekowondo meet held at Thane. The rich haul that included four gold, two silver and three bronze saw the team stand second overall in the team championships.

Medal winners:
Ashish Nalawade 18 to 22 kgs, Dharmesh Pardeshi 22 to 26 kgs, Siddharth Lele 48 to 52 kgs, Rachel Mahajan 12 to 16 kgs all gold.Ashish Kante 46 to 50 kgs, Supriya Deshmukh 44 to 48 kgs both silver.Tarak Patil 24 to 28 kgs, Vishal Neevgune 18 to 22 kgs, Namrata Balgude 18 to 22 kgs all bronze.

Late Gauri Chavan hockey on Nov 14
The second Gauri Chavan Memorial Hockey tournament will at St Joseph8217;s Convent Pashan from November 14 to 15.

The tournament will be played in the age groups of under-14 yrs and under- 17 yrs and has attracted 11 schools from Pune.

Inter-Swedish meet
The 16th Inter-Swedish group tournament got underway at the Shramik Hall today. The tournament is organised by SKF Bearings for this year, and has attracted 150 participants from various Swedish Collaborated companies like SKF Bearing, Atlas Copco, Tetra Pack, Alfa laval, Sanvik Asia and Hoganas.

The participants will be vying for supremacy in fields of carrom, cricket, table tennis, swimming, chess and badminton. In the inaugural function SG Kurbetti Chairman Recreation Club of SKF welcomed the guests while Benny Boodle, co-ordinator SKF, gave the vote of thanks.
