
Book on cricket records
A comprehensive book of Test and limited overs international cricket records, from 1877 to the last one day match played between Australia and West Indies on April 25 this year, was released here today by Maharashtra Cultural Affairs Minister Pramod Navalkar.
The RG’s Book of Cricket Records, compiled and edited by Indian cricket board’s statistician Mohandas Menon jointly with DN Mukherjee and Ashim Kumar Sarkar and published by Dr Manish Bansal, gives a complete synopsis of all Test and One-Day International matches played to date besides scores of statistics pertaining to all departments of the game.
With the World Cup round the corner, the ODI section also contains a separate chapter devoted to the premier limited overs event, including updated individual career figures of all the cricketers who would take part in the tournament to be held from May 14-June 20.
Priced at Rs 495, the book had its first buyer in Mr Navalkar. A 30% discount is on offer uptil June 1999 onthe statistical volume which is also on sale through internet at khel.com
