Pakistan won the U19 Asia Cup last month with a dominant 191-run win over India in the final. They are placed in Group C alongside England, Scotland and Zimbabwe. A total of 16 teams are divided into groups of four. The teams that finish in the top three of each group will qualify to two groups of Super Six. The top two teams from each of the Super Six groups will qualify for the semifinals, before the winner of each game will play the summit clash. Australia U-19 are the defending Youth World Champions, having beaten India Colts in the final in 2024.

After smoking him for a FOUR and a SIX in his previous over, he brought out a sweep to get one more FOUR! from his last over of the spell. The asking rate is almost 6 r.p.o and Pakistan would fancy their chances as long as they have Yousaf at the crease.
Manny Lumsden bowled the 40th over and Momin Qamar, the new batter in at No. 9, played out the first four deliveries before going for a big swing to get two runs through mid-off as he got off the mark.

With the wind blowing across and the overcast conditions in Takashinga, Pakistan are looking menacing with their bowling attack. They have certainly controlled the flow of runs, and England would need to break the shackles pretty soon unless it's too little too late from their side.

Bowled a slower one, wide on offside, and Ralphie Albert played away from the body, and an inside edge crashed onto the stumps. Right-arm leg-spinner Usman Khan joins the attack. Calben Falconer unleashes an array of shots to punish Usman for his poor length and line. Usman kept on bowling short, going for poor down the leg lines, and Falconer kept on hitting him off the backfoot. Big over for England as 22 come from this over.

Just 21 runs have come in his six overs. This over went for just two singles. Ralphie Albert, meanwhile, gets off the mark with a single.

A slow passage of play where England skipper Thomas Rew, alongside Caleb Falconer, looks to rebuild after three wickets, of which two have come in quick succession. SIX! Rew flicks on with authority, clearing the deep fine-leg fence with ease for his first maximum! And he departs off the next delivery! WICKET! Straightaway for Abdul Subhan who has the last laugh against Rew. Full and wide, Rew goes for an expansive drive but Ahmed Hussain's diving catch at behind point sends him back. What an effort, great catch from Hussian as Pakistan continue to tighten the screws on England.

As soon as England were looking to get going with their partnership, Pakistan came up with another breakthrough. Mayes cuts the short ball, wide outside off, straight to the short third man. Unlucky dismissal, but Pakistan would take it happily.
Caleb Falconer is the new batter. Danger looming as Falconer and then Rew were found in front but denied the LBW call on both occasions. Hussain is certainly moving things for Pakistan at the moment.

The ball keeps low, Dawkins puts so much power behind his shot, but skipper Farhan Yousaf takes a sharp catch inside the circle at covers to remove the set-batter. The delivery slightly deviated away for the left-hander, a tentative Joseph Moores poked it and the keeper completed a safe and easy catch to give their team the first scalp.

The England U-19 side has played 24 dot deliveries in the first six overs. The scoring rate is just shy of five runs per over after the first 36 deliveries. Barring a few hits and misses and inside edges, the batters largely look solid, while Pakistan have also tried to keep a tight lid through their attack led by pacers Ali Raza and Umar Zaib.

This England U19 opening pair has an uncanny resemblance to the England senior team openers Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley. The left-right combination with Ben Dawkins being the lanky right-hander opener, similar shots like Crawley and then Moores reminds of Duckett, similar style of play more or less.
After making a couple of errors in his line in the first over, he appears to be on point after getting his rhythm. FOUR! Lucky boundary but England would take it anyday. Length delivery on off, lanky Dawkins goes for an expansive drive, playing away from his body and an inside edge runs past the diving keeper behind. Four from this over.

The right-arm pace bowler Umar Zaib will have the second new ball from the other end. He starts with a yorker length delivery, a cautious Moores defends it on frontfoot. A single via leg byes gets Moores off the strike before Dawkins initiates a quick single in the following delivery. Two off this over.

Ben Dawkins gets going as he is off the mark with a boundary off the second delivery after clipping the down-leg delivery fine for a boundary. Raza is looking to adjust his line at the moment, follow up with a wide. Raza improves quickly, targets the wicket-to-wicket line and beats Dawkins with a ball that angles away from the right-hander. Pakistan Under 19 have won the toss and elected to field first against England Under 19.
Among the big stars to emerge from that succesfull Asia Cup campaign for Pakistan was batting boy wonder Sameer Minhas. He scored 471 runs at an incredible average of 157 and just as incredible strike rate of 117.45. The knock that catapulted him into being a household name already in Pakistan, was the one he played against India in the final. Minhas smashed an astonishing 172 off 113 balls, the highest score by any batter in a men's under 19 tournament. The previous record was Quinton de Kock's 146 in a tri-nation toournament.
There are three games being played today as well. Defending champions Australia start their campaign with a match against Ireland while Afghanistan face South Africa.
India beat the USA by six wickets via DLS method while the West Indies beat Tanzania by five wickets. The match between Zimbabwe and Scotland was abandoned and both teams shared points.
