Surat boy dies after kite string slashes his neck, throat

An eight-year-old boy died after a kite string cut his throat while he was riding his bicycle in the parking area of his residential society in Surat. The CCTV footage of the incident showing the minor boy severely wounded has gone viral on social media on Friday.
As per the Rander police, the incident took place when Rehansh Borse, 8, was riding his bicycle with two other kids in the walking passage of Anand Villa residency society, at Jehangirpura in Surat, on Thursday evening.
The police said that one of the boys saved himself, but Rehansh Borse did not see the string, and his bicycle was travelling at full speed, and he came into contact with the kite string.
The apartment residents took him to a private hospital in Rander town, but the doctors declared him dead on arrival.
R J Chaudhary, Police Inspector, Rander, said, “Rehansh is the only son of Anmol Borse, who works in the AM/NS company at Hazira and hails from the Dhulia district in Maharashtra. His father was on the job when the incident took place and reached the hospital after learning about the incident. The kite string had cut Rehansh’s neck and throat deeply, which led to loss of blood, causing his death.”
