Gujarat Assembly session from Feb 16, Budget on Feb 17: Speaker

THE NEXT budget session of the Gujarat Assembly will begin from February 16 and State Finance Minister Kanubhai Desai will present the state budget for 2026-27 on February 17, Speaker Shankar Chaudhary said on Friday.

The session has been convened by Governor Acharya Devvrat.

In an official video, Chaudhary said the budget session would continue for 23 days with 26 sittings. On its first day, the Governor will address the Assembly followed by obituary references of former members who died in the past year.

The detailed schedule of the session’s business will be finalised by the Business Advisory Committee of the Assembly on February 15.

Chaudhary said the MLAs can submit their questions for discussion in the House from Saturday, both in online and offline manner.
