Buenos Aires: A month-long Argentine soccer strike has ended after a court lifted a ban on lower division matches hours after violent clashes between fans at a friendly match.

First division players went on strike in sympathy with their third and second division peers at the beginning of February after a court ordered the suspension because of hooliganism.

Maebashi: Paris has been added to the golden league series of Elite athletics events, the IAAF announced. The French Federation has been pressing for the Paris Grand Prix meeting to be in the first tier of world events, which has till now been limited to seven.
