Brainstorming came to its best when DAV College, Sector 10 played host to Satkal-CLA inter-college quiz contest. A total of six teams from different colleges participated juggling their memories for answers on questions related to science, art and literature, sports, business, music et al. And supporting the contestants were a eager audience who did get its share of chocolates for the correct answers. Prof Kushal Shante played the perfect quiz master giving quotable quotes like, “It’s a difficult question but it’s easy if you know it!” He had the teams guessing Harry Potter’s middle name, BMW’s full name, the name of the bank that fell due to recession and has the name of an animal in its name, the chess player who commented ‘that hairy ape’ referring to a competitor. At the end of the session of interesting questions the quiz ended in a tie but Dalbir Singh and Manmeet of Dr HSJ Institute of Dental Sciences and Hospital were awarded first prize as per the written score. Bracketed first was Government College for Girls, Sector 42 represented by Nidhi and Gunja. DAV college, Sector 10’s Gurinderpal and Akshay were second. Punjab University campus was third represented by Arastu Chopra and Himanshu. “It is essential that we keep ourselves updated,” remarked guest of honour Vipin Pubby, Resident Editor applauding CLA’s role in organising events to help students excel in their capacity. Harinderjit Kaur, former Mayor also encouraged the students and urged them to contribute back to the society.
