Sourav’s restaurant closes down

'Sourav's The Food Pavilion' downed its shutters following seven years of a topsy-turvy innings.

Former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly-owned,’Sourav’s The Food Pavilion’ on the upmarket Park Street area downed its shutters today following seven years of a topsy-turvy innings.

Launched in 2004,five-storeyed restaurant-cum-lounge bar was incurring losses,while other nearby outlets made hay,said a source.

But Sourav’s elder brother Snehasish said it was purely a business decision as both of them were too busy to spare time.

“We were busy with our respective commitments. We did not want to see a brand attached with Sourav being neglected. So we had to take this step after much thought,” said Snehasish.

“Sourav fans coming to this part of the world would definitely miss something. But we could not help… Let’s see may be in near future,we may think of coming up with something on this line,” he said.

Sourav is presently busy with his commentary assignment for India’s tour of England.

Initially owned by Abhishek Entertainment and Foods Private Ltd with Sourav’s signature,the Bengal stalwart took full ownership and management control of the restaurant in 2006.
