Sourav Ganguly confirmed that players from the first-ever Test played between India and Bangladesh in November 2000 will be present at the Eden Gardens Stadium on Saturday, as India prepare to host its first-ever Day/Night Test.
Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association life member Sanjeev Gupta had filed the complaint on October 4 when Sourav Ganguly was heading the Cricket Association of Bengal, claiming he held multiple posts as CAB president and its representative to the BCCI AGM.
Apart from the issue of promoting such a venture as BCCI president, it was also the case of ambush marketing as Dream11 is an official partner with the board-run Indian Premier League and Ganguly was tweeting about a rival company.
The Jammu & Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) has gone through crisis in recent times and the official said that they have assured the BCCI boss that the situation will be clear in next one and half months.
As per the BCCI constitution, the Rules and Regulations can be amended “by a 3/4th majority of the members present” at the AGM or a Special General Meeting (SGM). But to put them into effect, the Supreme Court’s approval is required.
"In our days you could have played for India only if you are a North Indian or Maharashtrian from Mumbai or from South. One could not have thought of a cricketer playing in Indian team from Bihar," former India player Dilip Doshi says on how Sourav Ganguly changed Indian cricket.
