Pakistan, led by an aggressive 97 from opening batsman Nasser Jamshed, cruised to a seven-wicket win in the second ODI against Australia to level the series at 1-1. Jamsheds innings, which spanned 98 balls and included 11 fours and two sixes, helped Misbah-ul-Haqs side make light work of what looked set to be a testing target after Australia made 248 for nine.

The 22-year-old shared partnerships of 66 with Mohammed Hafeez 23 and 101 with Azhar Ali before miscuing a drive at Mitchell Johnson to be caught at mid-off by Mitchell Starc just three runs short of his second ODI hundred.

Australias batsmen, except Michael Hussey 61,were once again shackled by Pakistans spinners with offie Saeed Ajmal again proving the key bowler.

Ajmal, who took three for 30 in Sharjah, tormented the Australia batsmen and finished with four for 32. David Warner 24 laboured for 68 balls before being put out of his misery when he tried to work the spinner on the on-side and was adjudged leg before wicket.

Ajmal also removed David Hussey lbw for a duck and then returned later in the innings to dismiss Mike Hussey and Glenn Maxwell 28. Hussey and George Bailey 39 got Australia back on track with a stand of 66 in 14 overs after coming together with their team in some disarray at 87 for four.

BRIEF SCORE: Australia 248/9 in 50 overs M Hussey 61,G Bailey 37,S Ajmal 4/ 32 lost to Pakistan 249/3 in 43.4 overs Nasir Jamshed 97,Azhar Ali 59 not out,D CHristian 1/40
